Just across the road, you can visit their Orchard and Winery, where you can indulge in wine tastings, explore 600 acres of orchards and vineyards, and hand-pick your own fruits and vegetables.

Established in 1903, Clark State is Indiana's oldest state forest. You can take a peaceful hike, have a picturesque picnic, or have a fun camping weekend! If you're more adventurous, consider checking out the shooting range or hunting and fishing opportunities! There is truly something for everyone! 

3. hit a hole-in-one at champions pointe golf club

If you're into the golf scene, check out Champions Pointe! This expansive course will challenge your skills while offering a beautiful view of the countryside.  If you're more competitive, consider checking out the Champions Pointe Men's League!

4. sunbathe at the beach: deam state recreation area

Want a taste of the beach? Check out the sandy lakeshore at Deam State Recreation Area! The 104-acre lake offers plenty of room to go row boating or kayaking, as well as fishing with the appropriate license! Want to stay on the land? Go horseback riding or check out the campsites. Some of them even offer electricity, how luxurious!

5. try a sweet taste of history at schimpff's confectionary

Head over to the United States' oldest, continuously operated, family-owned candy shop! Not only can you try Schimpff's Confectionary's famous red hots and hard candy fish, but you can take a tour of their candy museum and watch live candy-making demonstrations! 

6. enjoy a show at derby dinner playhouse

Looking for a way to treat yourself? How about a dinner AND a show?! Enjoy a tasty meal while enjoying a live performance at Derby Dinner Playhouse, whether it be a musical, comedy, family-friendly show, or orchestra! 8. Soak in some family time at the Charlestown family activities park

If you need fun-filled family time, head to the Family Activities Park! If you want some time in the sun, play on the splash-pad, pick up a putt-putt game, or check out the pirate playground. Rainy day? No worries! The Family Activities Park also offers video games and roller-skating! 

9. Find Fossils at THE Falls of the Ohio State Park

Walk across the world's most accessible 390-million-year-old fossil beds! Over 600 different types of Devonian fossils have been found at the Falls, and you can explore history by exploring the river and finding shells, coral, and more! If you are looking for a more intense or detailed experience, check out some of their educational programs or camps and tap into your inner paleontologist! 

10. Visit the Howard Steamboat Museum

Take a tour around this 1894, 22-room mansion that used to be home to the famous Howard steamboat building family. The museum features photographs, models, tools, and other artifacts linked to some of the family's famous boats, including the J.M White, and the Indiana. Complete with original furnishings, stained glass windows, and a marvelous grand staircase, you can take a step back into history!

11. George Rogers Clark National Historical Park

If you are interested in the history of the Revolutionary War, go to the George Rogers Clark National Park. This museum commemorates George Rogers Clark, an American Colonel that captured several British forts and played a key role in advancing American claims on the Northwest Territory, including Indiana! 

12. Grab a Bite to Eat at Copper Kettle

Get a taste of Clark County by trying out a local diner! Copper Kettle has all of your food needs covered, serving hearty American food from breakfast through dinner! From omelets to burgers to steak dinners, there is something for everyone to enjoy!
