However, it is something you are going to want to carve out time to do or it could create an issue with your drainage system. So get yourself a sturdy ladder, some gloves, put some music on, and get this out of the way!

Save yourself a couple of bucks by ensuring that the draft isn't letting all the hot air out. Let's keep our homes warm and cozy this fall season by making sure all of the windows and doors are closed when they are supposed to be.

We have selected our picks for food and beverages that will make this fall even better than normal. These are easy meals, that can be prepped ahead of time in your fabulous open concept kitchen. 1. A Classic, Hearty Chili Recipe 

This is the perfect meal for a cold fall day or to bring to a football tailgate. It is a quick and easy staple. 

  • Cook ground beef in a large pot with an onion and garlic, drain excess grease
  • Combine tomato sauce, chili seasoning, beans (optional), tomatoes, water, and a dash of hot honey or sugar.
  • Bring to a boil and let simmer. Transfer to a crockpot to keep warm if traveling. Serve with your favorite toppings like sour cream, cheese, and chives. 

2. A Decadent, Cheesy Roasted Butternut Squash Pasta 

Nothing feels more like fall than a filling, warm plate of pasta. This just over a 30-minute meal is the perfect, hearty dish with an easy setup. 

  • Roast your butternut squash, onion, garlic, thyme, salt, pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil, and bake at 425 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Prepare your choice of pasta, this can be any shape, but it suits rigatoni and penne the best. It also works great for those with dietary restrictions!
  • When the squash is done, add all of the items that have been roasting to a blender with veggie or bone broth, and blend until smooth. 
  • Warm on the stove and combine with the done pasta. Add your favorite cheese, pecorino, parmesan, or vegan cheese! The world is your oyster with this! Add red pepper flake for a little spice, and you have a beautiful, cozy dish! 

3. Warm and Fuzzy Apple Bourbon Smash 

A variety of our floorplans offer a recreational room, that can serve as a great bar/entertainment area for gatherings. It is the perfect location to make this fabulously fall beverage that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Discover which floorplans offer this convenient feature here!

  • Combine 1/2 of a honey crisp apple, 2 teaspoons of honey, 4 oz of bourbon, 2 oz of lemon, grated nutmeg, a pinch of cinnamon, and then apple slices or cinnamon sticks for garnish. 

4. Pumpkin Pecan Cobbler 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, In a medium-sized bowl, mix flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and spices. 
  • In a smaller bowl, stir pumpkin, milk, melted butter, and vanilla together to combine. Pour wet ingredients into dry. Pour into a small 8-inch casserole dish with high sides. Top with sugar, brown sugar, and pecan mixture. Pour hot water over without stirring. Bake for 40 mins or once the middle has set. 
  • Serve with pecans and a little vanilla ice cream!
