Something significant is happening at 525 Scott Street.

Last week, The Fischer Group officially broke ground on its new corporate headquarters in Covington, Kentucky. The moment felt less like a routine ceremony and more like a clear declaration. It was a statement about where the company is headed and a reflection of what is possible for Northern Kentucky’s urban core as it continues to evolve.

Bringing People Together

Tim McMahon, CEO of The Fischer Group, sees the project as something bigger than a new headquarters.

"This project is about more than a new building. It's about bringing our people together in a space that reflects who we are and where we're headed," McMahon said. "Covington is an important part of the future we're building, and we're excited to invest here while creating a headquarters that supports the next phase of our growth."

That vision includes bringing roughly 400 employees together under one roof in a thoughtfully designed environment. The goal is to foster collaboration, connection, and innovation. The new headquarters is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027, marking a major milestone for a company that has called Erlanger home since 2013 and is now preparing for its next chapter.

Confidence in Covington

The project itself involves a significant transformation and expansion of the existing structure at 525 Scott Street. Plans include adding three additional stories to the north end of the building, along with another story above the current gym. This expansion will increase the total footprint from approximately 65,000 square feet to about 95,000 square feet.

Altogether, the project represents a $15 million investment in the site and in the surrounding community.

Construction will be led by Acendion Collective, which is part of The Fischer Group family of companies.

"This project is a great example of what can be achieved through strong partnerships," said David Spaulding, President of Acendion Collective. "We're focused on delivering a thoughtful, high-quality transformation that reflects the vision behind this investment."

What It Means for the Region

Covington Mayor Ron Washington, Kenton County Judge Executive Kris Knochelmann, and development partner Guy van Rooyen all gathered to mark the occasion, each recognizing the broader significance of the project.

"Today's groundbreaking is a powerful statement about Covington's momentum," Mayor Washington said. "The Fischer Group's decision to invest in our downtown is a clear signal that our urban core is continuing to grow and thrive."

That signal is hard to ignore. The new headquarters is expected to bring hundreds of high-paying jobs into the heart of the city, further strengthening Covington's reputation as a destination for talent, innovation, and long-term opportunity. It also reinforces the idea that businesses are increasingly looking to vibrant, walkable urban centers as places to invest and grow.

A New Chapter

For The Fischer Group, this project represents a natural progression in a much longer story. It is a story rooted in the region, shaped by steady growth, and driven by a forward-looking mindset focused on what comes next.

For Covington, it serves as another clear indication that the city’s upward trajectory is not temporary. It reflects a deeper, ongoing transformation that continues to gain momentum with each new investment and development.
